Blayney Township Water Discolouration
A number of consumers in the Blayney Township have advised of water discolouration over the past week.
This discolouration has been attributed to the recent large number of intense rainfall events occurring over the Lake Rowlands catchment area. These events have led to large inflows of organic materials and minerals into the Lake Rowlands dam.
CTW’s treatment plant operators are constantly monitoring the raw water supply from Lake Rowlands and are making operating adjustments to the Blayney Treatment Plant to minimise the impact of the changing make-up of the raw water supply. It can take some time for these adjustments to flow through to the reticulated water system. CTW is hopeful that the water discolouration will improve over the next week.
It is important to note that despite the water discolouration, it continues to meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink.
CTW would like thank all customers that have notified us of this matter. This allows the information to be recorded and complied so as to ascertain the localities where the problem is occurring.
CTW apologises to all affected consumers and appreciates their patience in resolving this matter.
Please call our Administration Office on 63 917200 if you require any further information or wish to report any instances of discolouration.
