Access to Information

Council’s disclosure log is a record of information that Council has released under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (‘GIPA Act’), and forms part of the open access information agencies are required to make publicly available. Information that is released as a result of a GIPA application is listed in the log if Council is of the view that the information may also be of interest to other members of the public. Note that exemptions do apply under the GIPA Act whereby Council is not required to log certain access applications.

If you wish to apply to access information available under the act, download this application for access form, complete and return to Central Tablelands Water. All formal applications cost $30 to lodge and may be subject to additional fees for research time. However members of the community are encouraged to contact Central Tablelands Water before making an application, as it may be that the information you are seeking to find it already available.
Council's is required to maintain copies of a councillor's and a designated person's return disclosing their pecuniary interests (Part 4 of the Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW (2018)).
This information is 'open access information' for the purposes of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, and subject to the requirements of that Act.
Guideline 1 - Returns of Interest issued by the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) requires that the Returns are to be publicly available free of charge on Council's website unless there is an overriding public interest against disclosure. Council is of the view that for the privacy and security of the persons completing the Returns, redacted copies are available on the CTW website.
As redacted copies are available on the CTW website, unredacted copies of the Returns will no longer be available for inspection at Council's Administration Office.
The information owners have been consulted about the proactive release of the redacted Returns on the CTW website.
